What it entails?

Building & Organising your Group

  • Recruit committed volunteers with diverse skills (e.g., housing, finance, education, healthcare).
  • Delegate responsibilities to ensure a well-rounded and supportive team.
  • Foster teamwork and clear communication among group members.

Navigating the Application & Approval Process

  • Register your group with Community Sponsorship Ireland (CSI).
  • Ensure all members complete necessary training and background checks.
  • Work with the Irish Refugee Protection Programme (IRPP) to secure approval.

Securing Housing & Resources

  • Identify safe, affordable housing for the refugee family.
  • Oversee fundraising and financial planning to support the family’s initial needs.
  • Establish a plan for long-term sustainability and independence.

Leading the Welcome & Integration Process

  • Organize arrival logistics and ensure a warm welcome for the family.
  • Support their access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate language support and cxultural orientation.
  • Build connections within the community to foster long-term integration.

Ensuring Long-Term Success

  • Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to help the family become independent.
  • Address challenges and adapt support as needed.
  • Maintain communication with CSI and IRPP to ensure best practices are followed.
